September Crop Tour 2009

Thanks again to all who attended the recent Crop Tour. We enjoyed it and the feedback is that you guys did too, and as much as anything else there is real value in simply allowing growers to learn from growers with help from people like us to put the structure and technical detail in place.

Testimonials

Dave Partridge of Moree, NSW, talks about BioNutrient Solutions Carbon Farming Systems.
September, 2008.

"We have been using BNS products since their inception and have trialled them against conventional products on a 'same dollar per hectare' spend and found them to produce the same or better results.  The products are also better for the soil and plants, and promote a healthier, stronger plant and root system.  This combined with a good crop rotation gives better returns in both the short and long term."

John Picone, 'Listowel', Moree, NSW.
December, 2008.

"It appears on face value - and it may take many years of science to prove how - that this system gives you a plant with a much better root system.  We're trying to mitigate our risks, and not loading up a crop with nutrient at planting and having more efficient plants is part of that risk management process.  We are seeing returns in the order of $2.02 per $1 spent on components of this system, particularly liquid injection, let alone the total package of nutrition."

Angela Druery, 'Santa Lea', Moree, NSW.
February, 2009.

"We could never previously get the crop [Lucerne] back to prior yields of 4-5T/ha after the heat of January kicked in, and the last cut in March/April suffered as well.  This year, after sticking with CalciumPLUS we are seeing a massive improvement in the crops ability to take in water and withstand heat stress, better than ever before.  We estimate a $5 return per dollar spent on BNS fertigation inputs this season, with lower insect pressure and soild stems."

Adam Kent, Twynam, 'Collymongle Station', Collarenebri, NSW.

"We've used Stubble Digest over most of our irrigation country and the retained impact has been evident 2-3 years later.  Conversion of woody cotton trash to organic matter has improved and so has soil structure.  The rapid decomposition of cotton leaf litter during the peak nutrient demand in December was a standout in terms of increasing efficiency of nutrient supply of Potassium and Nitrogen to the crop."
